The MQ-4 Gas Sensor Module is an effective solution for detecting Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), methane (CH4), and a variety of gases present in the atmosphere. This module features the MQ-4 sensor, which is designed to simplify connections with its standard 4 x 0.1?? header pins, allowing an easy interface despite the sensor's unusual pin layout.
It provides an analogue output that reflects gas concentration levels and a straightforward digital output. Users can adjust the onboard potentiometer to determine the maximum gas concentration that will activate the digital output. The MQ-4 sensor efficiently detects natural gas concentrations ranging from 200 to 10000ppm.
By connecting the MQ-4 sensor module to a 5V power supply and setting the desired threshold, users can start measuring the surrounding gas concentration immediately! The presence of gas is visually indicated by an onboard LED. The digital output easily interfaces with microcontrollers and other circuits, while the analogue output can be linked to a microcontroller's ADC for a comprehensive range of sensor readings.
