The IRF520 MOSFET Driver Module for Arduino and Raspberry Pi is a breakout board designed for the IRF520 MOSFET transistor. This module enables the control of heavy DC loads using a single digital pin from your microcontroller.
This simple breakout board allows for easy connections to your Arduino or other 3-5V microcontrollers. By sending pulse current through a PWM pin, you can control devices such as pumps, LEDs, or other DC loads at voltages of up to 24V and currents around 5A.
While the primary purpose of the IRF520 MOSFET Driver Module is to offer a cost-effective solution for driving DC motors in robotics applications, it can also be used to manage most high-current DC loads. The module features screw terminals for connecting your load and an external power source, and it includes an LED indicator that visually shows when the load is activated.
Here's a straightforward explanation of how this module operates:-
Connect the power for the device you want to control to the Vin and GND terminals.
Attach your device to the V+ and V- screw terminals.
When the SIG line is HIGH, an LED lights up, and GND connects to V-.
When the SIG line is LOW, the LED turns off, and GND disconnects from V-.
V+ and Vin remain continuously connected.
You can power this module using your Arduino by connecting VCC to the 5V pin and GND to the GND pin on the Arduino.
Note: Heat sinks should be installed for loads exceeding 1A.
