The A4988 Module is a compact and cost-effective breakout board featuring Allegro’s A4988 stepper motor driver. It offers multiple benefits such as adjustable current limiting, over-temperature and over-current protection, and supports five different step resolutions. With an input voltage range of 8V to 35V, it can supply up to 1A per phase without a heatsink.
The A4988 is a complete microstepping driver with an integrated translator, allowing for simple and efficient stepper motor control. It supports full, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth step modes, and can drive bipolar stepper motors with up to ±2A output capacity.
A key feature of the A4988 is its built-in translator, which enables microstepping with minimal complexity—each pulse on the STEP pin advances the motor by one microstep. This eliminates the need for phase sequence tables, high-frequency control, or complicated programming interfaces. It’s a perfect solution for systems with limited processing capabilities.
The A4988 also includes a fixed off-time current regulator, which automatically selects between Slow and Mixed decay modes during stepping operation. In Mixed decay, the current initially undergoes fast decay, followed by slow decay—helping to minimize audible motor noise, improve step precision, and reduce overall power consumption.

- Short-to-ground and shorted-load protection
- 4-layer, 2 oz copper PCB for improved heat dissipation
- Exposed solderable ground pad below the driver IC on the bottom of the PCB

Return Conditions
To be eligible for a return, items must be:
- In their original, unused condition
- In the original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and free gifts (if any)
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Note: Products damaged due to misuse, modification, static discharge, soldering, or improper handling may not be eligible for return.

Return Pickup Process
We arrange the return pickup for you — hassle-free returns similar to major e-commerce platforms.
- Pickup is coordinated after return approval
- Pack the product securely in its original packaging
- Include a copy of the order confirmation or packing slip
- Our logistics partner will collect the package at the scheduled time
Return Shipping Costs
- Defective, damaged, or wrong items: ROBODIUM™ covers all return shipping costs.
- Change-of-mind returns: ₹100 return shipping fee will be deducted from the refund.
Refund Process
- Refund Method: Original payment method
- Processing Time: 5–7 business days after inspection
- Refund Amount: Full purchase price minus applicable return shipping fees
- Orders canceled before shipping receive a full refund (minus up to 5% payment gateway charges, if applicable)
Replacements
- Replacement is shipped after the returned item is inspected and approved
- Dispatched within 2 business days of receiving the return
- If replacement is unavailable, a full refund will be issued
Warranty Terms
All products include a minimum 15-day warranty against manufacturing defects, unless otherwise specified on the product page.
Warranty does not cover misuse, soldering damage, modifications, physical damage, or incorrect electrical connections.
Order Cancellations
- Orders in Pending or Payment Verification status can be canceled for a full refund
- Contact us immediately before shipping to cancel an order
- Once shipped, orders cannot be canceled but can be returned after delivery
